Since the establishment of the KOCA in 1923 the Association has contributed financially and in kind supporting the College and its members. At each significant point in the history of the College, the KOCA has provided support for suitable memorials including; The Golden Jubilee Project, the Vestibule, World War II Memorial and the I.H Grimmett Heritage Corridor. Bursaries & Scholarships
Each year the KOCA awards a number of scholarships and bursaries to assist students with their studies or to reside at King’s College. These include:
The KOCA Endeavour Scholarship
The award is made annually and ‘in private’ by the KOCA after consultation with the Master and Deputy Master of the College. Primarily it is intended to assist a student to continue residence in College and is awarded before the end of Semester 1. A candidate for the award should be making satisfactory academic progress in his studies and should be making a significant contribution towards College life.
The King’s Old Collegians’ Association Bursaries
These bursaries are awarded on the basis of recommendations from the Master and KCSC to a student who is eligible to reside in the College while involved in studies at the University. Selection is on terms similar to those used in the selection of Rhodes Scholars, with 40% for scholarship, 40% for citizenship and 20% for sporting ability. It is presented at the Valedictory Dinner.

Established in 1995 these Bursaries are awarded on terms similar to those used in the selection of Rhodes Scholars with 40% for scholarship, 40% for citizenship and 20% for sporting ability.

Refurbishment of Student RoomsThe Association has contributed over $90,000 to the refurbishment of student rooms and bath rooms since 2006. This has allowed all rooms in A, B and C Flats to be refurbished and more recently rooms in Lower D, E and J.

Supply of new Gym Equipment for the College Gym
In 2007 the KOCA contributed $20,000 to the King’s College Student Club to purchase new gym equipment. The College gym is one of the best on the campus of The University of Queensland.

Man of the Match Award – Francis & Kassulke Cup
In 2009 the KOCA initiated the man of the match award at the annual rugby match against St Leo’s College. A pewter tankard was presented to the man of the match, Kerod Power by President Jim Farmer at the after match function. The KOCA is committed to awarding this each year.

Social Functions/Mentoring Programs
Each year the Association holds an Annual Dinner in the College Dining Hall encouraging year groups to hold reunions. In addition it runs a number of other networking and social functions and plans are in place for a formal mentoring program for members.
